Front End System Engineering Development of L-band Prime Focus Feed System for Radio Astronomy Applications

In this video, Dr. Yogesh explains very briefly the subject of radio astronomy and further describes the front end system engineering associated with it. The later part of the video shows the block diagram of the developed L-band (1050 MHz – 1620 MHz) front end system for prime focus (f/D=0.4) reflectors used in Radio Astronomy Applications. The video concludes with the description of the real working prototype of the said system.

EP03 : Coaxial Cable to Rectangular Waveguide Transition

In this video, Dr. Yogesh explains very briefly the  an efficient transition is discussed between TEM mode of coaxial cable and TE10 mode of rectangular waveguide. The EM simulations of the transitions are shown followed by measurement done with a VNA on a realistic prototype.

EP05 :  Circular Waveguide based Band Pass Filter in L-Band Transition

In this video, Dr. Yogesh explains a circular waveguide based band pass filter is shown which has an ability to reject both (850-960 MHz and 1710 MHz to 1900 MHz) mobile bands for mobile interference free radio astronomy observations. The video explains basics for circular waveguide filters along with EM simulations. Further video demonstrates the working prototype of the filter using VNA S-parameter measurements.

In this video, Dr. Yogesh explains
CAD model of a Septum Polarizer is shown and later the measurements are shown. For measurements, two discrete cases of polarization are considered namely Transverse and Longitudinal Polarization. For each case, by launching TE11 mode using a transition from Coaxial to Circular Waveguide, the required S-parameters are measured.

EP04 : Rectangular Waveguide to Circular Waveguide Transition

In this video, Dr. Yogesh explains focuses on design and fabrication of Rectangular Waveguide to Circular Waveguide Transition. The demonstrated transition is covering one full waveguide band having bandwidth approximately 1.55:1

EP06 : SEPTUM Polarizer : Orthogonal Circular Polarization Splitter : Theory : Part A

In this video, Dr. Yogesh explains a SEPTUM polarizer is discussed in terms on its operating principle, theory and EM simulations. The video aims to explain basic theory of operation and how a septum polarizer splits two orthogonal circular polarizations ?
